Welcome to Portals United! / Forums / Requests & Feedback / Headset Gaze Direction – Get ray collider tag
Hello,
We want to get a tag from object colliders intersecting with the ray cast from the headset gaze direction.
This can be used to detect what objects are users looking at, activate buttons, interact with the environment, etc.
Can this be done in the current version of the World Builder (0.1.36)?
If not is this feature planned to be implemented and when?
Thank you!
Currently we don’t have or plan to have that functionality. However, you will soon be able to encode your own Nodes in the Logic Editor and then you could use the gaze direction/start position to cast a ray the way you want.
Can I consider this thread to be solved? If so, would you be willing to share your code? Either other colleagues can benefit from your success or perhaps you’d like to “donate” the code so we can integrate it into the WB code base to make it available for everyone.
Hi Robert,
I’m sorry I missed this message. Yes, we agree to integrate the node code into the WB code base so it will be available to anyone.
We are happy to help and improve the platform further!
